Wholesale Banking provides financial solutions to businesses across the United States and globally. Our four major business lines include Corporate & Investment Banking, Commercial Banking, Commercial Real Estate, and Wells Fargo Commercial Capital. We also have groups in credit risk, group risk, finance, marketing, human relations, and the Wholesale Chief Operating Office that support our businesses.
The Phoenix Commercial Banking office supports middle market companies within Phoenix Metropolitan area. Our prospective customers are in a broad industry base including (commercial and industrial, manufacturing, technology, investor real estate etc. ) The Business Development Officer creates sales opportunities with the middle market banking team and acts at the initial contact for a prospective customer or client. The Business Development Officer works to increase Wells Fargo relevancy to prospective customers and positions the middle market team, leadership, and product partners for new business opportunities through consistent calling effort and delivery of value added ideas. They partner with the Commercial Business Leaders to develop the office sales strategy and to lead marketing efforts in a defined territory. Assists with sales processes including prospect prioritization, initial contact and pursuit strategy, identification of fit and opportunity, due diligence and proposal development, and overall management of new customer acquisition. The Business Development Officer works with the middle market team to initiate and advance new business transactions (including cross-sell opportunities) by delivering the appropriate Wells Fargo products/services available to meet the financial needs of the prospect or customer and progress the transaction through the major channels of the bank.
Team members support our focus on building strong customer relationships balanced with a strong risk mitigating and compliance-driven culture which firmly establishes those disciplines as critical to the success of our customers and company. They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.
