Business Development Representative - Maricopa County & Northern Arizona

Sonora Behavioral Health is Arizona's largest inpatient psychiatric hospital. We are seeking an experienced Sales and Business Development Representative to manage our Maricopa County accounts, with minimal travel to Prescott, Flagstaff, and other regions north of Phoenix. This remote position requires regular telephonic check-ins with the Business Development Director and travel to Tucson once per month for Business Development team meetings. Seeking an autonomous, trust-worthy, self-motivated medical sales professional to drive referrals and admissions to our hospital.
The Business Development Professional will develop and implement strategic, data-driven account management plans that support the hospital market plan. Cultivates and maintains reciprocal relationships with community professionals, behavioral health service providers and agencies, hospitals, payors, and other referral sources. Markets and sells the hospital’s healthcare service lines and stays abreast of marketplace changes and trends. Demonstrates superior customer service standards internally and externally. Attends, coordinates, and participates in educational seminars related to mental health, mental illness and chemical dependency issues for children, adolescents, adults and older adults to school professionals, healthcare and clinical professionals, and community and governmental agencies. Maintains documentation associated with account management activities. Identifies and develops new referral contacts that produce admissions. Directly reports to the Director of Business Development and works closely with the Director of Admissions to achieve and maintain census targets. Reports on sales activities, referrals, and admissions weekly. The Business Development Professional’s performance will be measured against admissions goals, associated activity, and updates on the competitive environment with the ability to critically evaluate and strategize around potential growth areas.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a marketing, sales, or business administration, or related field. Experience must include two years of healthcare business development with demonstrated growth results required. Knowledge of behavioral treatment principles preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be reviewed.
