Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is seeking a StrategicGrowth Manager to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.

The preferred candidate will report to the Undersea Systems StrategicGrowth Director and possess a thorough knowledge and understanding of thedomestic military/government undersea warfare market and customer set.   As one of the leads responsible forstrategic growth of the business, the candidate will develop strategies andimplement actions that will expand the undersea warfare business base withinthe business unit.

Activities will include the capturing of new business andupgrade/modernization program opportunities, penetrating adjacent markets byreferencing in-house competencies, supporting proposal development/pricingefforts, and working in partnership with multiple internal functionalorganizations. The candidate will support meeting the Long Range StrategicPlan, the Annual Operating Plan and new business acquisition objectives. Candidates must develop a detailed knowledge of the customer's needs and acquisitionstrategies, the DoD acquisition process, and an understanding of thecompetitive landscape. 

The candidate will work very closely with the programmanagement staff to develop strategies to position the business unit forsuccess. She/He should possess the following minimum skills:

  • Develop concepts and strategies that utilize internalcapabilities to help the customer achieve objectives.   
  • Effectively convey new concepts and strategies to both internaland external customer sets
  • Possess keen businesssense and ability to solve complex business development problems and situationsutilizing ingenuity, innovation and creativity.
  • Communicate effectively at all levels of internal andexternal organizations.  This willinclude assisting in the development of advertising and marketingcommunications materials and representing Undersea Systems interests atindustry trade shows.
  • Develop pipelines and strategy roadmaps in collaborationwith the operating units.
  • Cross-collaborate with other business units within thedivision to address customer requirements as a single Northrop Grumman entity.
  • Develop customer engagement plans and strategically shape customerrequirements.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Minimum of 10 years demonstrated direct orrelated experience in military/DoD applications.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills,organizational and time management skills, and a strong sales/marketing presence.

  • Experience in requirements development, programmanagement, procurement/acquisitions and/or technical background.

  • Excellent customer relationship building andsustainment skills.

  • Ability to lead and work in cross-functionalteams.

  • Current DoD Top Secret Security Clearance withthe ability to pass a CI polygraph.



  • Minimum of 10 years demonstrated direct orrelated experience in military/DoD applications.

  • Experience in strategic planning, identifyingnew opportunities, collecting and analyzing competitive intelligence,developing capture strategies, and mapping customer acquisitionstrategies.  

  • Relevant experience in the defense acquisitionprogram management area.

  • Recent experience in acquisition and/or programmanagement at Naval Sea Systems Command and/or the OPNAV Staff.

  • Knowledge of DoD budgeting process
  • Program management and engineering disciplineexperience.

  • Strong understanding of military acquisition andrequirements generation including organizational structures, processes andbusiness contacts.

  • Current DoD TS/SCI Security Clearance with theability to pass a CI polygraph.
