Northrop Grumman is currently seeking a Business Development Rep / Principal BD Representative for eitherour Elkton, Maryland or Palm Beach Gardens, Florida location.

 

RoleDescription & Responsibilities:
Northrop Grumman isactively seeking a motivated defense/aerospace professional with thedemonstrated ability to proactively create, cultivate, and enhancerelationships with current and potential customers and key contacts inGovernment to identify, develop, and capture new business opportunities. Theresponsibilities of the position will balance external customer relationshipmanagement activities with internal support of the daily operations of theAdvanced Propulsion and Control Systems (AP&CS) business development team.The Business Development Representative role reports directly to the AP&CSBusiness Development Manager.  TheAP&CS business development team supports development activities at NorthropGrumman's Elkton, MD, Palm Beach Gardens, FL and Ronkonkoma, NY facilities.These facilities develop advanced propulsion systems such as advanced solidrocket motors, air-breathing ramjet and scramjet systems, NG and Air Force/NASAhypersonic ground test facilities, and advanced divert and attitude controlsystems (DACS).

The Business Development Representative will;

  • Develop and maintainrelationships with current and potential customers, Lead System Integrators andstakeholders within the Advanced Propulsion market segment.

  • Gather intelligence throughcustomer interaction and market analysis to identify strategic new businessopportunities.

  • Prepare consolidatedbusiness development capture plans and pursuit briefings in support of newbusiness acquisition.

  • Participate as a memberof capture teams for key captures.

  • Work proactively with externalcustomers, internal stakeholders, and business development teams acrossdepartments and business segments to execute structured and planned businessdevelopment and capture initiatives.

  • Develop and deliver customerpresentations communicating recommended advanced propulsion solutionsaddressing requirements critical to providing lethal overmatch to theWarfighter.

  • Develop presentations andwhite papers communicating growth strategies and plans for legacy and advancedpropulsion programs to senior management within the Missile Products BusinessSegment.

  • Coordinate customer visits,internal meetings and web-based conferences in support of new businessdevelopment.

  • Perform researchactivities in support of new business development, capture strategy, andproposal development.

  • Maintain a businessdevelopment CRM database for all active advanced propulsion new businessopportunities and pursuits.



Qualifications

Thisrequisition may be filled at either a Business Development Representative orPrincipal Business Development Representative

 

Basic Requirements BusinessDevelopment Representative:

  • 3 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree;1 year of experience with a Master's degree

  • 2-8 years working within the aerospace and defense industry
  • Solid understanding of the DOD market and acquisitionprocesses.

  • 3 years' experience in Business Development,Marketing, Engineering or Program Management.

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oralcommunication skills.

  • Demonstrated experience in effective andsuccessful negotiations.

  • Strategic thinker with excellent organizationalskills.

  • Ability to function in an uncertain andchanging environment

  • Able to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Ability toacquire a Security Clearance which requires US Citizenship asa pre-requisite

  • 6 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree;4 years of experience with a Master's degree

  • 4-8 years working within the aerospace and defense industry
  • Solid understanding of the DOD market andacquisition processes.

  • 3 years' experience in Business Development,Marketing, Engineering or Program Management.

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oralcommunication skills.

  • Demonstrated experience in effective andsuccessful negotiations.

  • Strategic thinker with excellent organizationalskills.

  • Ability to function in an uncertain andchanging environment

  • Able to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Ability toacquire a Security Clearance which requires US Citizenship asa pre-requisite

Preferred Requirements:
 
  • Technical degree in aSTEM field

  • Master's degree or MBA.
  • Prior experience withadvanced propulsion systems such as advanced solid propulsion, air-breathingramjets/scramjets, hypersonic ground test facilities, and/or divert andattitude control systems.
