Director of Sales

Job Summary :
Position leads all sales efforts through tasks and activities pertaining to accounts. Prospect various media to source and develop potential accounts as well as update and maintain all forms of account files. The Director of Sales must have excellent verbal and written skills and ability to perform direct outside sales calls. The Director of Sales must be a team player. Superior guest relations skills and excellent telephone sales skills
BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES :
§ Cultivate business through direct sales
§ Perform sales tasks and goals as outlined in the marketing plan
§ Qualify leads and prospects through cold calls, telemarketing and networking
§ Grow existing accounts
§ Generate new business to ensure revenues meet or exceed budget.
§ Interpersonal communication, management and organizational skills.
§ Develop an effective marketing plan.
§ Knowledge of contractual agreements and legal implications
§ Strong customer, development and relationship management skills
§ Knowledge of all market segments including extended stay.
§ Knowledge of overall hotel operations as they affect sales.
§ Understands revenue management functions and account profitability
§ Excellent selling skills and understanding of sales processes.
§ Understands the overall market in which he/she sells (competitors' strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand, etc).
§ Take initiative to develop new strategies and uncover new markets to generate sales.
