Job Description



Solicit new business and retain existing customers in the BT sales market. Negotiate business travel rates with key contacts/accounts that comprise the business travel market in order to maximize revenue in the preferred segment. Know top companies, feeder markets, top clients, competitive hotels, in order to shift share to our hotel. Have a working knowledge of the Kessler Collection culture, features, and history in order to be able to sell the Kessler experience to each account/guest. Promote all Kessler Collection outlets, group, catering, restaurants, spa, wine blending, and galleries. Maintain accurate and organized local agreements, Marriott agreements, contacts, spreadsheets, OneNote, and analytics. Must have ability to analyze data in order to create overall transient strategies for the hotel.

Essential Tasks:

    - Account Management
    - Prospecting for new accounts
    - Load new discounted rates/audit discounted rates annually
    - Research each market for prospective accounts and locate accounts to target for new business using local business journals and TravelClick/Kalibri.
    - Plan/Execute Sales Calls
    - Review STAR reports
    - Complete Request for Proposals
    - Analyze Monthly/Quarterly/Yearly account production
    - Complete monthly recaps per property
    - Travel as needed
    - Visit competitor hotels at least once annually
    - Work with revenue management to implement business transient specials when needed.
    - Host client events on property as least bi-annually.

Knowledge, Skills, Travel, and Abilities Required:

    - Excellent sales and negotiation skills
    - Extensive market knowledge
    - Solid decision-making, organization, and interpersonal skills
    - Superior communications skills including exemplary written and oral communications skills
    - Impeccable attention to detail and sense of urgency in delivering exceptional customer service
    - Display professional conduct, sound judgment, the highest level of professional integrity, and a strong work ethic
    - Ability to establish and maintain a positive and professional working relationship with sales teams
    - Must be proficient in Microsoft office (Word and Excel at a minimum)
    - Experience with Marriott BT systems (MarRFP, ResLink, MRDW)
    - Experience with TravelClick Agency 360 (now Amadeus)

Education or Experience Needed:

    - Bachelor's Degree in Business, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major.
    - Five (5) years of hotel business travel experience
    - Business Travel Industry expert with a global awareness.
    - Strategic alliances with travel partners and business travel industry experts.


Expectations of the Kessler Collection culture include but are not limited to the following:

    - Greet and interact with internal and external guests in a genuine warm and friendly manner using professional and Kessler standard nomenclature.
    - Maintain the integrity of the guests' privacy, including confidentiality of personal information and key control.
    - Operate the telephone system, answering calls within three rings, using the correct salutation and telephone etiquette.
    - Maintain a neat and organized work area.
    - Maintain the integrity of Company proprietary information and protect Company assets.
    - Maintain complete knowledge in the use of all office equipment, property management systems and access according to specifications.
    - Maintain complete knowledge and comply with company policies and procedures.
    - Maintain neat, clean and professional appearance according to standards.
    - Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures. Report accidents, injuries and unsafe conditions.
    - Welcome and acknowledge guests with disabilities and follow proper procedures to accommodate needs.
    - Develop and maintain positive working relationship and support the team to achieve our goals.
    - Attend required training and meetings.
    - All other duties as assigned, planned or un-planned.
