AmeriFirst Financial (AFI) is involved in all aspects of retail mortgage lending and works to provide prospective home buyers with a broad selection of loan products at competitive rates. This position of Outside Sales Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) is a consumer-facing direct sales position. This position requires the employee to be the first touch point with leads and prospective applicants in a timely manner, to obtain a mortgage loan application, and to follow through on all aspects of the origination sale from inception to completion.
The Outside Sales MLO position is a part-time position. It is only available to applicants with other full- time employment unrelated to AmeriFirst Financial, Inc. Applicants seeking full time employment may apply for a full-time MLO position subject to the requirements and conditions applicable to that position.
·Obtain mortgage loan applications from prospective home buyers by face-to-face prospecting, networking, and customer relationship management
·Expected to follow specific workflow and manager directive to maximize results
·Must work in the field and away from office (including home office) at least 50% of the time spent working for AmeriFirst
·Outside sales activity should be at least 80% of the time spent working for AmeriFirst
·Activity incidental to outside sales should be no more than 20% of the time spent working for AmeriFirst
·Maintain all documentation related to your mortgage loan origination work in the company’s electronic filing system - no physical documentation (e.g. paper files, flash drives, discs) may be maintained by Outside Sales personnel
·Communicate in a positive and professional manner at all times
·Exercise independent judgment and ability to work independently
·Comply with automobile use policies and procedures
·Comply with all AmeriFirst Policies and Procedures applicable to the mortgage loan originator position
·Document and track daily/weekly/monthly activities as directed
Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experience:
·Licensed and able to originate mortgage loans
·Experienced in growing a database and managing drip campaigns
·Ability to quickly learn new systems and technology
·Excellent communication skills, both internally and externally
·Working knowledge of mortgage industry computer software and the ability to learn
·Working understanding of mortgage industry and applicable regulations
·Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop productive working relations with business associates
·Language skill required includes ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence and memos.
·Mathematical skill is that of ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent and to create and interpret bar graphs.
·Computer skill required is that of basic personal computing including electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, etc.
