We are currently seeking a Membership Development Representative – Northern Territory. The Membership Development Representative – Northern Territory is responsible for supporting the Seven Cooperative Principles with a primary emphasis on relationship building, business development, retention, public relations, financial literacy and promoting a positive community image for the Credit Union in Northern New Mexico territory. Assist organizational project teams for developing and implementing new Select Employee Group (SEG) products and services. Build Credit Union business through networking, call programs, marketing materials and participation in expos/events and maintain all reporting requirements.


Primary Responsibilities:

    • Build Credit Union business through networking, call programs, marketing materials, and participation in expos/events to support established goals. Stay informed on major community development issues that potentially impact our SEGs, membership, and the communities served by the Credit Union and identify solutions to meet their needs. Build and support a positive Credit Union image and visibility with SEG’s, members, and in the community by volunteering, attending events, and participating on committees and boards. Maintain all reporting requirements of activity and goal attainment.
    • Serve as a retention representative by regularly communicating with existing SEGs, identifying ongoing needs, supplying proactive solutions to enhance the relationship. Serve as the direct point of contact for the SEG ensuring scheduled check-ins and updated information in the Customer Relationship Management Tool.
    • Present education seminars on financial literacy/capability and support other Credit Union department efforts in delivering education seminars to improve member understanding of our products, services, and financial well-being.
    • Assist in the development of new and/or changes in products and services to meet the needs of SEGs, Members, and the Community. Participant in organizational/departmental projects as required.



  • Three to five years of similar or related experience. Experience in lending, public speaking, education and/or bilingual in the Spanish language preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field
  • A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact.
  • An individual must have the ability to adapt to multiple personality styles and changing environments.
  • Fostering internal and external relationships with other entities (departments, companies and/or individuals) are necessary and require the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others
  • Excellent relationship building and communication skills with the ability to develop and deliver an effective presentation, presenting the benefits of the Credit Union’s membership, unique products and services, and overcome objections.
  • Must be able to interview community partners to understand organizational needs and desired outcomes, as well as identify problems and potential solutions.
  • Experienced in all facets of Membership Development including NCUA compliance, regulations, Select Employer Group programs, Field of Membership criteria, and documentation.
  • Must be knowledgeable in Microsoft Office and all internal systems as affiliated with the department.
  • Excellent organizational and attention to detail skills.
  • Self-starter who works well independently and in a team environment and able to assume a leadership role.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to change and proactively communicate
